SWCO
South West Charitable Organization
HEALTH
Providing quality care and support to community in South West part of the Country especially for the poor and the marginalized ones by delivering holistic health care.
Currently the organization has clear determination to embark on Mother and Child Health together with local Government. West part of the country is highly prone to Mother and child mortality and morbidity as compared to the other part of the country.
Reducing maternal and newborn morbidity and mortality and ensuring mothers and their newborns have access to help and information at every point during pregnancy and childbirth?from the household to the hospital?and then safely home.
HIV/AIDS is the leading cause of mortality among women of reproductive age and has devastating impact on the health, livelihood, and survival of women, children, and families. The HIV epidemic has greatly affected health, social, and economic sectors in the developing world and is one of the main causes for little progress in addressing maternal health. Response to this crisis requires a massive, multi-sectoral, and coordinated global effort to implement state-of-the-art approaches, and advance social justice and human rights.
Adolescence Sexual and Reproductive Health (ASRH)
Adolescence offers a critical juncture for intervention as young people are open to new ideas and beginning to form lifelong attitudes, values, and behaviors. Our programs capitalize on the vitality, potential, and dynamism of young people, including having them as active partners in developing, implementing, and evaluating programs. SWCO’s goal is to ensure young people have access to quality services that are tailored to effectively meet the diverse needs of adolescents
Youth participation and community involvement are central to SWCO's adolescent programming as young people are the best poised to advocate for their needs. Given the sensitivities around adolescent sexual and reproductive health, we intend to work with policy makers, parents, teachers, and health workers to recognize and support the special needs of this important and often vulnerable group.
Family Planning
Contraceptive services and knowledge offers individuals the ability to make key decisions about their sexual and reproductive health so they can take control of their lives. Empowered to make decisions about if, when, and how often to have children, women and girls can stay in school, develop income-earning skills, determine the size and timing of their families, and play an active role in ensuring their family's welfare. For men, contraceptive services and information enable supportive partnerships and ensure couples can make decisions together about their health and futures. Support for both women and men to access contraception and family planning is key to fostering gender equity and benefitting the health and strength of communities everywhere.
